If you care about health care, you'll be there.
I know this is short notice but please join us this Friday. We will gather in front of the Strand theater on main street with single payer signs (see new sign in attachment). Bring your home made signs or use some of ours! We will have plenty of single payer brochures, banners, and handouts.
The 9th Annual Maine Downtown Conference (conference brochure) will be held in Rockland this Friday, June 5th.
The conference will host Downtown Merchant Associations and development specialists that promote small downtown shop owners. A Single Payer Healthcare System would greatly benefit these and all other small businesses by relieving them of the huge financial (up to 24% of payroll) burden to ensure that their employees have health insurance. We need to be on the streets on Friday to make sure they know what a benefit Single Payer would be to them.
As you can see on the link above, the participants of the event will be on main street moving from one venue to another.
Obviously the press will be in town to cover this event that brings downtown merchants together from across the state. We need to make sure that they also get the story right.
So please join us as we show our support for them by providing a Single Payer Healthcare System. Thanks - Jerry
